Paul,
Our thoughts and prayers have been with you since we heard about your accident. We will continue to pray for you and your family. I know that you have a lot of people out there rooting for you and that alone will pull you through.
Aubin, Ali and Adam,
Please know that you are also in our prayers during this time.
paul, its been a long time since we have seen or talked to one another. but i want you to know that you and your beautiful family are in my thoughts and prayers. and always have been. when i became a marine just over 9 years ago, you were one of the 1st men, that i thought of when i received my first eagle, globe and anchor (behind my grandfather and uncle who were both marines).
without ever knowing it, your service to our country made an impact on me, and i want to thank you for what you sacrificed and for standing on those yellow footprints ahead of me.
please continue to be that stubborn and tough s.o.b. i know you are.
semper fidelis my brother, god bless you

Paul,
You are continuously in our thoughts and prayers. Our God is able to meet ALL YOUR NEEDS ACCORDING TO HIS RICHES IN GLORY BY CHRIST JESUS! We are standin on that promise and many others contained in His Word.
Aubin, Ali, and Adam,
Keep looking up! God is able to continue to heal and return your father to a normal life. Just take one moment at a time and pray always placing him in the Lord’s hands where he can recieve all that he needs.
We love you and will continue to pray and rejoice as he heals more and more each and every day.
Love, Dorothy, Bill, and GG
Paul,
A person meets many challenges in their lifetime, some of these hurdles are defeated with love while others take physical or mental strength but all are conquered by using the inner will within us, and our Lords divine powers. Know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. You are a man with a true passion for life and survival. May God hear our prayers for your recovery.

Paul – I have not stopped praying for you and your recovery since the first phone call. One thing I’m sure we can both agree on is that we have three wonderful children and you will be so proud of them when you get through this and find out how they have been there for you. They love you so much and one or the other of them have been by your side almost constantly since the wreck as well as Linda, Rob and Dave. Rob was there the whole night right after the wreck with the kids. So many people have come to see you and even more are praying for you. You have alot of friends who care about you. I am constantly amazed how kind and helpful everyone is when something like this happens and so many have offered to help our kids in any way they can. I’m so glad your surgeries have gone well and you are holding you own right now. I was at the hospital last night with Aubin, BJ & Ali and was glad to see you resting peacefully. I will keep praying for you.
Paul and family,
I was so shocked to hear of your accident and the horrific injures you sustained from it. I know it’s going to be a long road ahead for you in the months ahead, but you will do great because you are a fighter. Please know that my prayers are with you with each day that you have to face. I pray for your pain to be lessened with every healing moment, too. You’ve got a wonderful bunch of kids and I admire them for the deep concern and for letting those who know you about your progress and health status. That’s real love ya’ know. You are a very lucky man to have such a wonderful support system to back you up at this time. I wish you a speedy recovery and just know I’m thinking of you.
A high school friend,
Sharon
Paul and family,
You are all in our prayers and thoughts. We are so glad to see the positive updates and look forward to your continued improvement.
Dear Paul,
We, like everyone else, have been saying prayers for your full recovery. It’s wonderful that you have so much support! We thank your daughter for starting this blog site so we can all check in every day to hear your progress. It’s the first thing we do every morning when we get to the shop (J.V.’s Auto Repair in LaCygne). People stop in off and on throughout the days to ask us if there is any “new” news as well.
May God comfort you in the days ahead. We miss you!
Dennis, Kelly & Jesse Van Tuyl

Paul and family,
We are praying for you everyday. You are one of the toughest guys we know. You can do this. You have great kids who are going to see you through everything. I almost burst into tears, Aubin, when you said your dad responded to your question of being able to hear you! What a giant leap forward! The Lord has been so very faithful and good throughout this whole ordeal! We are still lifing all of you us in prayer continuously. Keep us posted!
Love, Dot
Thank you for keeping everyone updated!! Paul has got to be very proud of all three of you kids! Just wanted you kids to know if there is anything we can do please feel free to call on us. We will keep you and your family in our prayers!!! Hang in there.
We just wanted to send our love and prayers to your entire family. It’s amazing and scary how quick life can change. It is then in those times people learn to the greatest extent how much someone is loved by so many. I read the blog and comments daily and no I haven’t been able to get through one without crying. It just makes me happy that we have been able to enjoy so many good times and soon to be many more.
You know the other day at lunch I was in my own little world thinking;
If a person could have a heart and be made of steal it would be you Paul.
If a person could build a house out of a sheet of tin and two nails it would be you Paul.
If a person said you will never get that to work Paul you would prove them wrong.
As we have seen time and time again a man who is not perfect but one that is perfect in his own right and is a perfect and great friend to many.
Paul, ride hard live long!
Love,
Sheldon, Brandi, Randall, and Dominic
I was reading your blog about Paul running such a high fever for so long It brought to mind when Jim (Jones) was in the hospital several years ago and had heart surjury. He had been dismissed from St. Lukes and had been home just a few days when he started running such a high fever and we could not keep it down. He was taken to Ft. Scott Mercy and put in ccu.For two weeks we fought the fever and the Doctors were confused as to why we could not find a reason. They were about to call in infectious disease doctors. I was so frustrated I sat down with his medicine papers and found out that a medicine he was on one of the side effects was high fevers. I called Dr Spencer late at night and they took him off of that medicine and in two days the fevers were gone. The medicine was procamamide ( not sure of the spelling). We have been praying for your dad and your family. God Bless Pat Jones

My brother Lee and I have been thinking about you and your family throughout and will continue even after you return home. Our prayers will be with you and your family. It is inspiring to see all your supporters and to see how many people you have affected. I look forward to the day when I can shake your hand once more. As a firefighter here in Blue Springs I witness crashes like this often, you certainly have angels watching over you from above. Best wishes

Paul – wanted to let you know Kandie (Cox) Fairchild called me today and asked about you. Gave her the good news you are much improved!
Debi
We have been praying for you daily. I knew that God was not ready for you yet and that you were to onery not to make it. Besides Dad would have kicked you out of heaven and told you to go back and straighten up things. John says to do all your therepy without wondering what it is going to do for you cause it is all for a good reason even though it might seem like it isn’t.
Connie
Myself and my family (Doug, Debbie, and Buddie Staton) have been praying for a full recovery. Please get well soon.
Paul – Everyone at Linn County News, esp. Jackie, have asked about you throughout your recovery and many from First Christian Church – wanted you to know.
Paul, you’ve come such a long way in a very short time. We’ll all keep the prayers going, as I believe it’s prayer, the love and support of your family and friends and your inner strength (some say stubborness) which have gotten you through this. Of course, the wonderful doctors and staff had something to do with that too. Just stick with the therapy as long they recommend it, it really will make a positive difference for the long run. God obviously has much more in store for you, so you’ll need your strength!
Praise God! It is again so great to see the power of prayer in action. We are so pleased to hear and see how far you have come. We continue to pray for you through out your stay in rehab. You are truly blessed Paul and are a blessing to so many.
We are thinking about you and praying for you all.
Paul, we’re so glad to hear that you’re getting better, even though you may not “feel” better yet. We just wanted you to know that we’re thinking of you and praying for you. Try to keep your spirits up and focus on getting better and getting out of there. You sure do have a strong, supportive family. God Bless you all.
OK, I did this once already and when I hit submit it must have gone to the New York Times as it never has shown up on this blog that I can find it. Will try one more time. I THINK I said when this all happened, my first thought was (If anyone can survive this, It’s Paul), and that has been the thought I’ve held on to all the way threw this. Paul. You have more friends than you can believe, everywhere I go there is someone asking for an update, and at this time there have been over eleven THOUSAND hits on this site to check on how your doing. Me included. They did a wonderful job with this site, a really good idea. You have always impressed me at how you handle the job at hand. That job right now is to show patience that we all know you don’t have. ha! And give yourself the time you need to heal. We want ya back buddy. Get well soon. Kirk Baugh
You & your family are in our thoughts & prayers.
Keep the Faith!

Remember the great times we had in high school with our mustangs!!!
Dear friend, you have beautiful children and grandchildren, and it is quite apparent how much they love you!! You have been through many difficult situations, let’s just add this to the list. Be strong, God will provide.

Hi Paul,
We have been keeping up daily on your progress. A true miracle. We have all been praying for you, believe me. I love the song “The Rising” by Bruce Springstein. You should listen to it sometime. You are one tough guy! Good luck with your rehab. I know it will be hard, but well worth it in the end.

Hi Paul,
We are so glad that Aubin has started this site to keep all of us informed on your progress–we have eagerly looked for news about you since your terrible accident. Now the day to day intensity has eased and you are working on baby steps toward recovery. This may be the most challenging and frustrating part of the process, and one that will try whatever patience you can muster. We send our encouragement and most positive thoughts your way.
Love, Joyce and Ron Sergent

Just wanted to send our warmest wishes from the Vann family. Tarrell thinks the world of you, and has always said that you were a tough guy and would pull through. And today, you will come home. What a miraculous recovery! Here is a small story to bring a smile to your face. I had picked Malachi and Hannah up from school a couple days after the accident. Malachi was telling Hannah in the back seat that Grandpa Paul had been in a bad car wreck and had a broken leg, rib, and went on and on of what he could remember was told to him. After naming all of your injuries, he ended with this, “but he SURVIVED that crash because he is a STRONG man” in his wide eyed, attentive story telling voice. What a great grandson!
HI PAUL! WELCOME HOME!
